于是秀治便答应，以债务转由凤家承担支付作为交换，成为凤家的继承人。
不过事情并没有就此结束。
由于觉得秀治继承家业却没有结婚显然很丢人，因此促成了秀治与源三的孙女、秀治的表姐（妹？我控姐！）鳳まりあ的订婚一事。
作为当事人的まりあ对婚事表示反对，而秀治也以“应重视两人间的感情”为由提出反对。
对此，源三对秀治提出“那么自己找到对象。
期限是一年。
在此期间，自力找到能成为新娘的人选。如果做不到的话，就正式与まりあ订婚。”
因此，秀治转入了由源三出任理事长的贵族学校、南桜丘学院就读，踏上了寻找能让源三认同的新娘的路途……
